Our awesome Black Tusk - an old volcano, which last erupted 100K years ago. It's a huge mass of charred rock visible for tens of kilometers around. Black Tusk lake and Mimulus lake below.

Location: Panorama Ridge, Garibaldi Provincial Park, Beautiful British Columbia, Canada.
Equipment: Nikon D90 + Tokina 11-16mm + Tiffen Polarizer.
Processing: Photomatix Pro 4.1 and Photoshop CS5 from 3 RAW exposures.

On Starting FreshWe try so hard, we feel so often a failure when we compare ourselves to others, and to where we think we should be on our own spiritual, artistic journey. We forget to be kind to ourselves, to congratulate ourselves on our successes, even if few seem to notice them. Let's take our eyes for a moment off the way ahead, and look back and see how far we've come, and how much we've accomplished, and maybe then, we can start fresh in our own eyes, reboot our hopes and dreams with the subroutine added, "I'm alright, it's all going to work out, in the end. God is faithful, and there is love and kindness in the hearts of many I will meet." <Hope.> It's a beautiful thing.
