Joking and making fun of that kind of stuff should really be avoided. You should never judge someone for their choices or what has ever happened to them, and you never know when you're hurting another person. Those subjects should never be joked about.
They really should be avoided because you or your friends might not know what happened to the person sitting a few seats away. I mean sure some jokes about sex are okay, but everything else is downright rude and disgusting.
Some of these options I'm fine with (i.e. joking around about sex) but certain things such as abuse and RAPE, to me try and make it easier to deal with, and if you raise a point to it, you're suddenly "rude" for telling it how it is.
I avoid all of those for all people... EXCEPT religion. And that's only with certain people, and only certain jokes. (If you mean jokes about homophobic people - then yes I do tell them. If you mean homophobic jokes - no, never.)
Jokes about religion: If done right and in the right CONTEXT can be hilarious. I am a christian, and I think the movie Dogma is one of the funniest movies ever! I think it DOUBLY funny because I know what they're talking about!!
Jokes about race: IF DONE RIGHT....Good example: Russell Peters. BAD example: Dave Chappelle.
Homophobia: I hate that word. Its a misnomer. Just because I disagree with homosexuality doesn't mean I fear it.
Rape and Sex Abuse: Nothing in this world is a more evil, vile act. Those topics should NEVER be made a mockery of. EVER.
I think the more SPECIFIC the topic...the worse of an idea it is to make a joke of.
The more generic...the easier it can be...
But when you are dealing with a real, personal and evil trauma....you just don't go there...
Just because they want it banned doesn't mean they fear it.
Homosexuality in and of itself is a HUGELY debatable topic. I know of an 8 year old girl who said to her folks: "Well I love my best-friend Sally...so I think I'm gay."
Just about every TV show...even ads...nowadays HAS to have at lease ONE gay person in it.
Lately, homosexuality has been shoved down society's throat in an overwhelming attempt to demand acceptance. But there comes a point where those of us who don't agree with it, yet still respect the choices and free will of others are now saying: "Enough is enough..."
People are gay. I get it. We ALL get it. Lets move on.

Didn't say all of them necessarily do. At least a subset of them does fear that the gay culture can overtake their straight child.

An asexual kid of 8 years old is just confused. Professing this will not make her physically attracted to her friend, and she'll figure out that she's not gay later in life.
"They" (not sure who) want to turn EVERYONE gay?

Exercise your free will and don't watch that show then. If there are enough of you, the shows will change based on that demand.

I think there's a substantial amount of people who hate gay people in accordance with the bible. It says there to stone them, not "let them exercise their free will so long as they don't invade your space". This issue is not going away.
