I love this glacier cave I'm going back there soon to see how it changed.
The snow with the red algae and fine silt looks (and feels) like Styrofoam. The thing sticking out on the right is actually a small iceberg.
Location: Wedgemount Glacier just above Wedgemount Lake, Garibaldi Provincial Park, Beautiful British Columbia, Canada. Equipment: Nikon D90 + Tokina 11-16mm + Tiffen Polarizer. Processing: Photomatix Pro 4.1 and Photoshop CS5 from 3 RAW exposures. Follow me on Facebook:WestCoastScapes
Those colours really make the photo look so surreal. I enjoyed the contrast in the textures, from the rough feeling of the snow and silt to the smooth, glassy stillness of the water. It really is hard to tell what is ice, what is snow, and what is earth. The focus is brilliant as well, capturing all the details from foreground to background. Everything is something to look at. The perspective really does make one feel rather small though I do not know big any of this is in reality.
I do not feel that I have any actual complaints or concerns regarding this piece.
