One interesting fact about sunsets that you probably don't know. When the sun appears this low above the horizon, it has actually already set. Did I lose you there?
Atmospheric refraction causes this phenomenon. The sun is below the horizon, but the atmosphere is bending the light rays, allowing us to see it for a few minutes longer than the actual length of the day. Science is cool
