Fraser by IvanAndreevich Fraser by IvanAndreevich
One interesting fact about sunsets that you probably don't know. When the sun appears this low above the horizon, it has actually already set. Did I lose you there?

Atmospheric refraction causes this phenomenon. The sun is below the horizon, but the atmosphere is bending the light rays, allowing us to see it for a few minutes longer than the actual length of the day. Science is cool :)

This is the Fraser River, as it enters the Georgia Straight in Richmond, BC. Taken at the same location -

Download includes up to 2560x1600 and 2560x1440, although I recommend 1920x1200 and 1920x1080 for quality reasons. Other sunsets -

You forgot to mention the sunrays took 8 minutes to get where you are in the first place, so it practicly set another 8 minutes earlier from a geometric point of view :p. Anyway, nice view :)!
