Description

This shot is a part of the 2012 landscape calendar, which is now available! Go check it out :D

The floating log was really bright in the late evening sun. All the wood which finds itself in this huge lake tries to escape through this narrow spot where the creek flows out. There is a big log jam just downstream, so they get stuck. It's a pretty surreal place, which I hope to capture when more snow melts soon.

I think it picture is stunning. I have often enjoyed your pictures, always wished they were available in widescreen sizes or at least larger but none the less they are beautiful.

The balance of the trees on the left, the rocks on the right, and the mountains with the cloud - and their reflection into the water that views is all from a lower to the ground perspective is excellent technique. The skewed effect focusing on the reflections into the water is very effective.

The colors are amazing, especially towards the bottom in the water reflection, but not clear if this was a natural occurrence, effect achieved with lens filters, or something that was done as part of post processing after effect. Regardless a beautiful picture.
